Care Instructions
At TRAZOS, we create furniture that blends aesthetic clarity with long-lasting quality. To ensure that your furniture maintains its appearance and performance over time, we recommend following these care instructions and maintenance tips:
General Care Tips
- Always follow the care instructions provided with the product.
- Remember to tighten screws and bolts from time to time
- Teak is a living material and will naturally develop a patina over time. This is a normal process and part of the wood’s character.
- Avoid partially covering furniture surfaces, as this can lead to uneven color changes.
- Always start with the most gentle cleaning product
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, metal polish, or ammonia-based products.
- Sweat and other organic substances can affect natural materials such as wood – wipe surfaces down if exposed.
- If you experience any issues, our customer care team is happy to assist you.
Cleaning
For regular maintenance, simply wipe the furniture with a clean, dry cloth.
For deeper cleaning:
- Remove loose dirt and dust first.
- Use a cloth dampened with a solution of water and mild universal cleaner.
- Rinse with clean water.
- Wipe dry with a clean cloth to avoid streaks or water spots.
Stain Removal
To treat more persistent stains:
- Use a clean cloth with a solution of hot water and mild detergent, or
- Prepare a natural soap solution (e.g., 0.25 dl of soap flakes in 1 L of hot water, cooled), or
- Mix hot water with 10% vinegar for natural disinfecting and degreasing.
- Wipe the surface clean, then dry thoroughly.
Powder-Coated Aluminium
TRAZOS aluminium components are made from high-quality alloys and finished with a durable polyester powder coating applied electrostatically and cured at 180–200°C. This process ensures:
- Long-term resistance to corrosion and fading.
- A low-maintenance, UV- and weather-resistant surface.
- Easy cleaning with just water and mild soap.
To maintain the finish:
- Rinse off salt or pollutants if used in coastal or urban environments.
- Avoid scratches by not stacking items on rough surfaces.
- Do not use metal brushes or aggressive cleaners.
Natural Teak
We use untreated teak to let the material breathe and age naturally. Expect some variation in colour and small surface cracks – this is part of the wood’s living character and not a defect.
Before first use:
- Leave the furniture outdoors for 24–48 hours to allow excess oils to release.
- Wipe the surface with a damp cloth (cotton or jute) to refresh the grain,
Ongoing care:
- Teak exposed to the elements will develop a silver-grey patina.
- This natural oxidation does not compromise structural integrity.
- Clean with a soft brush and mild soap solution.
- Avoid pressure washers or harsh scrubbing.
